Lucas Vasquez had a bizarre two-word response to Real Madrid teammate Toni Kroos announcing his retirement from football.

Kroos will call time on his legendary career after Euro 2024 as he penned an emotional message on social media.

The 34-year-old will bring an end to his incredible club career after Real's Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund on June 1.

Kroos is looking to claim the sixth Champions League triumph of his career, having already won Europe's elite club competition an impressive five times across his spells at Real and Bayern Munich.

After his decision to walk away from football this summer, he wrote: "I'm trending at least?"

To which Vasquez hilariously replied: "F**k you."

It's fair to say Vasquez's message expressed the feelings of every Real fan in the world.

The 32-year-old Spaniard returned to the La Liga side one season after Kroos joined from Bayern.

So, he's played with the German throughout his entire spell at the club.

Kroos will be looking to bow out of Real on a high when his side face Dortmund in the Wembley Stadium showpiece.

On his retirement announcement, he wrote: "July 17th, 2014 - the day of my presentation at Real Madrid, the day that changed my life.

"My life as a footballer - but especially as a person. It was the start of a new chapter at the biggest club in the world. After 10 years, at the end of the season this chapter comes to an end. I will never forget that insolent successful time!

"I would particularly like to thank everyone that welcomed me with an open heart and trusted me. But especially I would like to thank you, dear Madridistas, for your affection and your love from the first day until the last one.

"At the same time this decision means that my career as an active footballer will end this summer after the Euro championship.

"I am happy and proud, that in my mind I found the right timing for my decision and that I could choose it by my own. My ambition was always to finish my career at the peak of my performance level.

"From now on there is only one leading thought: a por la 15!!! HALA MADRID Y NADA MAS!"
