Kvicha Kvaratskhelia is becoming everyone's favourite footballer, his highlights vs Ajax are so special

Kvicha Kvaratskhelia is becoming everyone's favourite footballer, his highlights vs Ajax are so special

A mesmerising performance from 'Kvaradonna'.

Kvicha Kvaratskhelia is becoming a human showreel in this season's Champions League, with the winger shining in Napoli's 4-2 win over Ajax in the Champions League.

The 21-year-old is looking like an absolute steal after arriving from Dinamo Batumi for just £9 million in the summer.

Kvaratskhelia has earned the nickname 'Kvaradona' in Naples, in homage to the late Diego Maradona, which he lived up to after turning on the style in Wednesday's Group A clash.

Hirving Lozano gave Napoli the lead inside four minutes. After that, Kvaratskhelia ran the show.

He turned provider for Giacomo Raspadori after dancing down the touchline, past a number of Ajax defenders.

The Georgia international laid the ball off for Raspadori, who fired a wicked shot past Remko Pasveer to double the home side's lead.

Kvaratskhelia possesses incredible skill and an unorthodox running style which few have managed to figure out yet.

Throughout the contest, he jinked and squirmed away from his opposition, leaving them in the dust. Calvin Bassey was among those who struggled in particular.

Just past the hour mark, after Ajax had halved the deficit through Davey Klaassen, Napoli won a penalty after a harsh handball decision against Jurrien Timber. Kvaratskhelia stepped up and put his spot kick into the top left corner.

It took his tally to seven for the campaign, which saw him blow a kiss to the camera in celebration.

Kvaratskhelia was replaced by Elif Elmas with 15 minutes to go, receiving a standing ovation from the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona crowd as he took his seat on the bench.

Fans have reacted to Kvaratskhelia's performance and they think he could be the next big thing.

One person said: "What a signing for Napoli this kid has been."

Another commented: "This guy is so good already it's frightening."

A third tweeted: "Kvaratskhelia is making football beautiful again."

While someone put: "Every top team is gonna be fighting for this guy soon."

Ajax received a penalty of their own which Steven Bergwijn scored to make it a nervy last seven minutes.

However, a mistake from Daley Blind allowed Victor Osimhen to convert from close range and seal all three points and passage to the last 16 for Luciano Spalletti's side.

They're currently top of Group A, with Liverpool in second following a 7-1 demolition of Rangers.

Jurgen Klopp's side can overtake Napoli if they win their final two games by a large margin.
