Forget your modern day football, your modern day football kits, your modern day football games. Anyone who is anyone knows that 1990 was the greatest time ever as far as all of that is concerned.
FIFA games may rule to roost now and before that it was Pro Evo, before that it was FIFA again and way back when it was Sensible World of Soccer but the greatest football game ever was Italia 90!
None of your fancy graphics, career modes or even commentary the Sega Mega Drive game had a wonderful birdseye view, the best soundtrack going and fully believable sound fx. All of that is forgetting the map of the world to pick your team, just check out the game play:
At 30 years old there's a good chance I'm older than 80% of the people reading this article but fear not youngsters not even I actually remember the 1990 World Cup but despite my nonsense earlier on it wasn't actually all that exciting.

In fact it was so boring that the pass back rule was introduced after to make the sport more entertaining.
So aside from Italia 90 and England actually getting to a semi-final the best thing at the whole tournament was Germany's kit and Adidas have brought out a replica jersey in their Originals range and it is as beautiful as the original:
As I've said before 1990 might be the last time the team with the most beautiful kit also won that years World Cup, although Brazil in 94 and France in 98 do have good claims as well.

But we all know that Nigeria's kit is actually the nicest for this year's tournament in Russia and they aren't going to win the whole thing, BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY ENGLAND ARE!!!!!!
