Jurgen Klopp committed 'Fantasy Football crime' with Trent Alexander-Arnold decision, fans are fuming

It happened in the 59th minute of their Premier League clash against Everton.

Jurgen Klopp's decision to substitute Trent Alexander-Arnold in the 59th minute against Everton has robbed Fantasy Football players of crucial points in Gameweek 6.

Ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash at Goodison Park, a hefty 48.5% of FPL players opted to use the £7.5 million full-back in their team.

So far, Alexander-Arnold has yet to hit the heights of last season, picking up a total of just 24 points in Liverpool's opening games against Fulham, Crystal Palace, Man United, Bournemouth and Newcastle.

And this weekend's performance in the Merseyside Derby was another frustrating one for Fantasy players.

Plenty of FPL players were anticipating a healthy six points for the England international but it wasn't to be after he was replaced by James Milner.

With seconds to go until the clean sheet deadline, Alexander-Arnold made his way to the bench and millions of people lost out on vital points.

One Twitter user commented on the decision, saying: "Klopp subbing off Trent in the 59th is FPL terrorism on a level even Guardiola would be proud of."

Another said: "I let FPL affect me too much, I am currently visibly upset just because Trent was subbed off at 59'," while a third wrote: "Klopp I have captained Trent Alexander-Arnold in my fpl team, please bring him back."

Liverpool could only scrape a 0-0 draw against local rivals Everton, as Man of the Match Jordan Pickford denied them with several incredible saves.

Jurgen Klopp praised the England shot stopper after Saturday's final whistle.

"I think we hit the post three times and there were a few unbelievable saves from Pickford – wow, what can you do?" he said.

"In this game, easy and free-flowing is not possible. You have to dig deep, that’s what we did. A 0-0 draw sounds strange, but that’s it."
