Jese Rodriguez's on-off girlfriend Aurah Ruiz has categorically denied claims she ran over the former Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain star.
Last Sunday, footage emerged of a man limping and requiring support from others on the side of the road and a newspaper in Gran Canaria said the location of the scene was close to where Rodriguez and his partner had recently been.
The couple, together again, had attended a concert at the Gran Canaria Stadium and there were wild reports stating Aurah had ran over the ex-Stoke forward following an argument.
"I’ve not run anyone over," Aurah hit back, as per The Sun.
"It’s a lie and very serious.
“I’m not going to allow people to say I’ve run my partner over.
“I know a lot of things have happened between us that we’re not proud of but we love each other and I never wanted to run him over.
“I know I lose my head sometimes but this!!! How am I going to do something to the father of my child!! Are we all mad!!"
Las Palmas, Rodriguez's current club, confirmed the player had not been involved in an accident and trained as normal.

Rodriguez himself also slammed the inaccurate reports as "fake news".
The Spaniard returned to Las Palmas, his hometown team, in February. This season, in nine games, he has notched three goals and four assists in all competitions.
He and his partner have a two-year son together, have had a topsy-turvy relationship and one that has involved the couple taking one another to court.
Rodriguez accused Aurah of harassment when she claimed he had neglected his duties of being a father, and a settlement was reached in 2020.
PSG terminated the 28-year-old's contract at the back-end of last year following claims he had cheated on Aurah with her friend Rocio Amar.
Aurah was a contestant on Spain's Big Brother in 2018 and it was alleged that Jese exacted revenge by paying €5,000 in text messages to eliminate her.
The plan worked as Aurah was the first person to be booted off the show.
