WATCH: Joey Barton Scores Match Winning Free Kick On Premier League Return

Joey Barton's season has just taken yet another turn, although this time for the better, as the Burnley midfielder whipped home a match winning free kick on his return to the Premier League.

Barton re-signed with the Clarets earlier this month, just six months after leaving Turf Moor for what would turn out to be a dreadful spell with Rangers.

The former QPR man made his second debut for Sean Dyche's team in the FA Cup third round tie at Sunderland last week and made his first Premier League start for the Clarets against Southampton today, marking it in the most emphatic way possible.

Burnley's 1-0 victory over the Saints keeps maintains their fantastic home record this season, with only league leaders Chelsea enjoying finer form at home than the Clarets, who have picked up 25 of their 26 points this season at Turf Moor and now sit in an impressive 10th place in the Premier League.

What a difference a few weeks makes for Barton.
