A goalkeeper in the Ethiopian Premier League managed to avoid a red card despite aiming an acrobatic somersault kick at an opponent. Watch the video below:
Footage of the bizarre incident, which appears to have occurred in last month's match between newly-crowned Ethiopian champions Saint George and Bahir Dar City, has circulated on social media.

In the clip, Bahir Dar goalkeeper Harriston Hessou fumbles the ball inside his area.
He is able to regather possession but then makes the crazy decision to acrobatically flip into an oncoming opponent.
Hessou's studs connect with the opposing player, who collapses to the floor in agony.

The referee immediately awards a penalty but Hessou manages to avoid a red card.
His lucks then continues as Saint George miss the resulting spot kick, an opposing player firing the ball wide to the delight of Hessou.
The match would eventually finish 2-2.
It is not the first bizarre goalkeeping incident to come out of the Ethiopian Premier League in recent years.
