Gerard Pique goes 'Instagram official' with new girlfriend, she's 12 years younger than him

Gerard Pique has gone 'Instagram official' with new girlfriend Clara Chia Marti.

Last year, the 35-year-old Barcelona defender split with longtime girlfriend Shakira after 11 years together.

In a joint statement announcing the break-up, they said: "We regret to confirm that we are separating" before requesting privacy for the well-being of their children, who are their "maximum priority."

Shakira opened up about her separation from Pique for the first time in September last year, referring to the grieving period as "the darkest hours of my life."

She added: "I've remained quiet and just tried to process it all. It's hard to talk about it, especially because I'm still going through it, and because I'm in the public eye."

It's fair to say things have been a tad messy since. Earlier this month, Shakira threw shade at former partner Pique when she released a song with Argentine producer Bizarrap titled "BZRP Music Session #53".

She said she is "too good" for the former Manchester United defender and mentions his decision to date a 23-year-old.

"I wish you luck with my supposed replacement," she sings. "I don't even know what happened to you. I'm worth two of 22 [year old]. You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo. You traded a Rolex for a Casio."

Pique proceeded to announce a new deal with watch brand Casio during a live stream for his latest King's League venture, and then went a step further by driving a white Renault Twingo.

Now, weeks after those stunts, the Spaniard has seemingly made his relationship with the previously mentioned 23-year-old official after posting a picture of the pair on Instagram.

Seven months after splitting with Shakira, it appears Pique has moved on with Clara Chia Marti, a PR student who is employed by Pique's events production company, Kosmos.

According to The Sun, the couple met through the organisation and sources close to the pair claim that they have been dating for some time.

“Gerard and Clara have been seeing each other for months," a source said. “She is a student who also works for him in his office, organising events.

“They have been keeping quiet about their relationship but those around them all know what is happening.

“People have been helping him keep the romance hush-hush and have wiped Clara’s social media accounts so people can’t find photos of her. That alone makes his mates think he is actually quite serious about being with her.”

Shakira, meanwhile, is believed to have made a hefty amount from songs dissing Pique.

As per Spanish publication MARCA, the 45-year-old singer has made $512,000 from YouTube, $500,000 from Amazon Music, $360,000 from Spotify and $1,200,000 from Apple Music – bringing the total to $2,500,000.

'Te felicito' is another song with a subtle mention to Pique and that earned the She-Wolf singer a sum of $10 million.

Overall, with the two-month old track 'Monotonia' featuring Ozuna factored in, it's estimated Shakira has added an extra $15 million for music about her past relationship.
