Get excited...

As if the excitement of a month solid in the pub watching a bunch of teams being better at football than England wasn't enough, we have tonight had the first teaser trailer for FIFA 17 sprung upon us.

The 56 second clip, narrated by new Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, doesn't give too much away, but instead focuses on the franchise's development over the years, beginning with FIFA International Soccer, a game in which you could avoid being sent off by simply legging it from the referee. Glory days.

The cover stars; Marco Reus, Eden Hazard, Harry Kane and Anthony Martial all feature in a series of brief, behind the scenes snippets, with glances of gameplay thrown in just to tease fans that little bit more.

The latest installment in the franchise will be the first to use 'frostbite', which is a gaming engine used by EA Sports in other games such as Battlefield and not, as we first suspected, a really cold weather setting on the new game. And if this 56 second snippet isn't enough to whet your appetite, the full trailer is released in just six days time.

Still no sign of a return to indoor mode, though, which means it's back to FIFA '97 and '98 on the Playstation One, for us.
