Lukas Podolski bowed out of international football in stunning style against England in Dortmund last night.
The 31-year old captained his country in his 130th and final appearance and he signed off with a trademark thunderbolt with his left-foot in the second half.
The netbuster was so good that England goalkeeper Joe Hart felt the need to congratulate Podolski immediately after the strike.
The German forward has revealed what Hart said to him during the exchange, and it makes the moment even more significant.

Podolski said: "He (Hart) said it was a fucking brilliant shot!"
We've got to agree with the Torino shot stopper on this occasion. To quote Andy Gray, 'what a hit son. What a hit!"

Podolski's international career saw him net 49th times for his country over a 13-year period and he was quite rightly taken off for a standing ovation late in the game.

He also became immensely popular off the pitch and is known as quite a character.
One memorable moment came in the European championships last summer when Podolski was asked for his thought on manager Joachim Low's bad touchline habits.
Throughout the tournament, Low had his hands down his pants, forgetting that pretty much any move he made would be captured on camera.
Podolski was quizzed on his manager's antics back in June 2016 at a presser and through English translation, we get to hear Poldi's hilariously brilliant response.

Happy international retirement, Lukas. We can't work out whether he's going to miss Low's scratching and sniffing antics or not...
