Premier League Player Has His House Burgled Whilst Playing On Tuesday Night

It's not the first time burglars have targeted a player when everyone knows he's not at home.

For most of us burglars could only know for sure we aren't in the house if they see us leave. For footballers though it can be pretty obvious and yet another Premier League player has found his house burgled whilst he was playing.

It's not too difficult to follow a footballer around, after all you only need to google where his team train and then find out the fixtures and you're halfway to knowing where he is at anytime, just personal life to go.

It's not their fault of course, just part of the job, but basically on most Saturdays and often in the evening during the week we know that footballers' houses will be empty or not depending if they're playing.

Evening games have seen several players return to their homes after playing to find that they've been broken into by some scum or other.

After opening the scoring for his side on Tuesday night West Brom winger James McClean returned home to find his house burgled. He posted on his Instagram story to reveal the news:

It has not been a good week at all for McClean. He was roundly criticised for his part in Arsenal's goal on New Year's Eve, in a 1-1 draw with the Gunners, when his placing in the wall was at fault for Alexis Sanchez free kick goal, that ended up going down as an own goal for the Irishman.

The former Wigan Athletic winger did open the scoring for Alan Pardew's strugglers against West Ham on Tuesday night but an Andy Carroll double, including a later winner, saw the Baggies stay in 19th, only above Swansea on goal difference.

He then returned home to find his house broken into to complete a rather miserable new year for the 28 year old.

McClean is not the first footballer to have his house broken into when he was playing and it happened to both Dejan Lovren and Sadio Mane earlier this season.

In fact it has been something that has hit lots of footballers on Merseyside over the years with Steven Gerrard, Peter Crouch, Pepe Reina, Daniel Agger and Jerzy Dudek amongst a slew of Reds to have it happen to them between 2005 and 2008.
