Alfredo Morelos stopped playing in the middle a dangerous attack during Rangers vs Royal Antwerp - due to an injury.

Rangers had a great chance to counter late in the first half, with Morelos out on the wing and ready to dart inside.

Jeremy Gelin went out to mark the Colombian and felt a twinge in his hamstring, hobbling off the pitch.

Morelos could've continued playing with Antwerp down to ten men. Instead, he stood still and let the referee blow his whistle.

A member of BT's commentary team hinted that some of his teammates won't have been too happy, but it was an incredibly noble act.

Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku is watching the game at home and tweeted: "Fair play to Morelos from Glasgow Rangers. Through on goal and stopping for an injury of the opponent.. great sportsmanship."

Fans have reacted to the gesture and while it is classy, it isn't what they were expecting from Morelos.

Rangers are currently leading the Europa League round of 32 tie 3-2 on the night and 7-5 on aggregate.

Morelos opened the scoring inside nine minutes before Lior Refaelov equalised.

Nathan Patterson and Ryan Kent made it 3-1 to Steven Gerrard's side in the second half before Didier Lamkel Ze halved the defecit.
