Notts County’s owners have released a statement amid reports that pop star Taylor Swift wants to take over the club.
Posting on their social media channels, the League Two outfit denied a newspaper claim that said Swift wanted to buy the Magpies.
Chris and Alex Reedtz, the owners of the world's oldest professional league club, issued the tongue-in-cheek statement on Friday, claiming they were sorry to "disappoint the Swifties in our fanbase".

The Weekend Sport newspaper alleged that Bad Blood hitmaker Swift wanted to follow in the footsteps of Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, who bought fellow League Two club Wrexham.
In a statement packed with Swift puns, the Notts County owners said: "As sorry as we are to disappoint the Swifties in our fanbase, we're going to have to shake this story off.
"There's certainly no bad blood between ourselves and Taylor, but at such an exciting time for us and the club, she surely couldn't have believed we would relinquish our control."

The statement continued: "We'll leave a blank space in tomorrow's pre-match playlist for a track from her newly-released 1989 album as a gesture of goodwill."
Notts County currently sit in second in League Two following their promotion from the National League last term.
Moreover, the rumour emerged the same day Swift fans flocked to hear her newly re-recorded version of 1989 - the biggest-selling album of her career - after it was released overnight.
It has been claimed on social media that the demand for ‘Taylor’s version’ of the album was so great that it caused technical problems on some streaming sites.

The 2014 album - which includes hits like Shake It Off, is the latest in a string of re-recordings by Swift, who wants to take back ownership of her old material.
