PGMOL issue update after Nottingham Forest demand audio recording of controversial Everton incidents

The PGMOL have responded to Nottingham Forest's latest statement regarding the release of the VAR audio for all three of the club's penalty appeals against Everton.

Nottingham Forest caused uproar after releasing a controversial statement on the refereeing during their relegation six-pointer with Everton on Sunday.

They stated via X: "Three extremely poor decisions - three penalties not given - which we simply cannot accept. We warned the PGMOL that the VAR is a Luton fan before the game but they didn’t change him. Our patience has been tested multiple times."

Everton won the match 2-0 thanks to goals from Idrissa Gueye and Dwight McNeil, putting distance between themselves and the relegation zone and plunging Forest into more uncertainty.

Forest faced significant criticism from those in the football community for directly questioning the integrity of the Premier League, with Alan Shearer losing his cool stating: "What the f*ck are Forest doing."

It didn't take long for the Premier League to respond to the accusations and announced an investigation into the tweet.

"The Premier League was extremely disappointed to read the comments made by Nottingham Forest on social media yesterday, following its match against Everton. We note The FA has confirmed it will be investigating the club’s statement. It is never appropriate to improperly question…" They shared via X.

Forest followed up by demanding the audio of the penalty incidents in question be released, and the Daily Mail understands the PGMOL are going to honour the 17th placed sides' request.

The report reads: "While PGMOL are unhappy with Forest's conduct in seemingly questioning the integrity of Attwell they will comply with the club's request for the audio of his conversations with Taylor, as they would with any club."

This wouldn't be the first time VAR audio has been released, as it has been more common following the VAR disaster during Spurs vs Liverpool which saw Luis Diaz's goal wrongly disallowed.

Despite Forest receiving the audio, it is unlikely it will be released to the public at this stage.
