Manchester United fans have come up with a theory as to why they are going to win the Premier League title following their win over Wolves.

The Red Devils opened their 2023/24 season with a 1-0 victory over Wolves as Raphael Varane scored the only goal of the game on Monday.

Erik ten Hag's side were fortunate to leave Old Trafford with all three points as the visitors had a staggering 23 shots and denied a penalty in stoppage time when Andre Onana smashed into Sasa Kalajdzic.

In beating Gary O'Neil's side, Man United made history as they have now won their opening game of a league season 21 times, more than any other club.

Fans online see this as a sign and believe they'll win their 21st league title because of their record-breaking win against Wolves.

One Twitter user wrote: "WE ARE WINNING THE LEAGUE."

A second joked: "Tell Richard Arnold to book the open top bus for next June because the league title is coming home."

A third tweeted: "The script is set... we are winning the league."

A fourth added: "It’s written in the stars."

Another said: "21 incoming."

Man United captured their 20th league title under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson, who guided his then-side to glory in the 2012/13 season.

They haven't won the league since his departure, with supporters supposedly convinced Ten Hag will lead them to their 21st league title.
