By Mike Parrott

Manchester United are ready to gazump Liverpool to the transfer of Bayern Munich star, Thiago Alcantara for £27 million.

It seems like Manchester United are finally ready to begin their transfer window.

After the constant attention on Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Jadon Sancho, United have started looking in other areas while continuing negotiations with Dortmund.

With many outlets such as Mike Verweij, Fabrizio Romano and Oriol Domenech saying Manchester United are in pole position to sign Donny Van De Beek from Ajax for €40 million, United are still looking for another midfielder.

Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara has been perpetually linked with Liverpool throughout the transfer window.

However, due to Liverpool not willing to go above €20 million for the Spaniard, United are ready to pounce on the opportunity to bring Thiago to the Premier League.

Christian Falk, Jan Aage Fjortoft, and Fredrik Flitvedt have all said that United are in for Thiago with Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge wanting the transfer resolved within the next week.

Thiago who recently won a treble with Bayern Munich nearly joined United back in 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson had the transfer in place, all for David Moyes to veto the deal.

Alcantara is very close friends with United keeper David De Gea and could see them link up again.
