Cristiano Ronaldo Fails To Make List Of 2019's Top Goalscorers

Robert Lewandowski has scored more goals than any other player in 2019 while Cristiano Ronaldo doesn't make the top fifteen.

The Bayern Munich forward has scored 45 goals in 42 games this calendar year which also includes four in 14 minutes against Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday night.

The biggest shock is Ronaldo not cracking the list at all as he's only managed 18 goals in 33 games this year.

The 34-year-old has still won Serie A and the Nations League in 2019 but his goalscoring has been below par.

It comes as no surprise that Messi finds himself among the elite however.

He remains the focal point of Barcelona's attack as they look to retain La Liga this season.

Karim Benzema has also enjoyed one of his most prolific years in front of goal.

The Frenchman has become Real Madrid's key goalscorer since Ronaldo's departure and he's repaid the faith shown in him by Zinedine Zidane.

Manchester City duo Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling come fifth and sixth which comes as no shock considering their domestic trophy haul last season.

Sadio Mane represents European Champions Liverpool after netting 27 goals in 42 games.

Some unexpected names manage to make the list including Jamie Vardy and Duvan Zapata.

Vardy is having an electric year under Brendan Rodgers at Leicester City and is the Premier League's top scorer this season.

But the crown for the whole year seems to be going to Lewandowski and it's well deserved.
