Roma's Owner Does The Unthinkable After His Side's Famous Win Over Barca

That's one way to celebrate a win.

AS Roma pulled off one of the greatest comebacks in Champions League history this week. Having lost the first leg against mighty Barcelona at the Nou Camp 4-1, the Serie A side somehow managed to turn the game around in the second leg, in the most dramatic fashion.

With a surprise 2-0 lead over the La Liga giants, defender Kostas Manolas nodded the Italians ahead on away goals, with just eight minutes left in the tie.

It's only the third time in Champions League history to overturn a first-leg defeat of three goals or more.

The victory sealed a round of astounding Champions League quarter-final games, where Liverpool were run-away winners over Manchester City and Juventus almost pulled off a great comeback of their own, only to be snubbed by referee Michael Oliver's controversial decisions late on.

This week has been a huge reminder of just how magical football can be, but with comes the risk of people getting a tad carried away with the celebrations.

Roma's owner James Pallotta let his emotions flood his composure after the brilliant win against Barca, as he was filmed jumping into then the Piazza del Popolo fountain in Rome.

Pallotta then apologised, paying the fine of €450 for his actions, before donating €230k to fix the famous fountain outside the Pantheon.

"There was no point where I thought I shouldn't have done it," he said to BBC World Service."I have a history of going one step too far, going all the way back to college, so it didn't faze me at all."

"I thought, 'why not start a thing called fix a fountain?' If you jump in one you have to buy or fix one," said the 60-year-old.

It's not a bad idea, but most of us don't have the cash to fork out on a brand new fountain every time we jump into one. Its probably best think of a less expensive way to celebrate a win over one of the best teams on the planet.
