Footage of Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney calling Benfica's Darwin Nunez a "f**king diving c**t" has emerged online and fans are loving it.

Tierney has established himself as a no-nonsense defender since arriving at the Gunners from Celtic in 2019.

Arsenal were chasing a winner in their Europa League clash on Thursday evening and the Scotsman went in for a 50/50 on Nunez.

The forward flung himself high in the air in an attempt to win a free-kick, which saw Tierney respond with: "He's a f**king diving c**t man."

Referee Bjorn Kuipers saw nothing in the challenge and Granit Xhaka went out to resume play with a throw in.

It'd be Arsenal who got the last laugh despite the time wasting, as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang headed home a winner on the night to make it 3-2, as well as 4-3 on aggregate.

Fans have reacted to Tierney's words and they were loving his mentality in a crucial game.

One commented: "From Kieran Gibbs to Kieran Tierney. This is real progress."

Another stated: "You can take the boy out of Glasgow, but you can't take the Glasgow out of the boy."

A third added: "My left back putting 'a diving c**t' in his place."

While someone put: "It's even funnier because the Benfica guy probably hasn't got a clue what Tierney has just said."

Tierney spoke to the Evening Standard following the game and admitted Arsenal made things hard for themselves after going 2-1 down.

"We bounced back the best way we possibly could and I think it is a good step for us to show we can face adversity, come back and go through.

"We never seem to do it the easy way. But credit to the boys we had some tough moments out there and some setbacks but to bounce back, score and go through to the next round, is all that matters.

"We are taking it game by game. We are not looking too far ahead, we have a big game on Sunday as well.

Next up in the Europa League is Greek outfit Olympiakos, who knocked Mikel Arteta's side out of the competition last season.
