Ten years ago today, Cheick Tiote scored one of Premier League's most iconic goals as Newcastle United came back from 4-0 down at half-time to draw 4-4 with Arsenal.

The Premier League is plastered with classic moments and brilliant games and Newcastle United seem to have been involved in quite a few of them.

As well as the infamous 4-3 loss to Liverpool there was the far happier incredible comeback against Arsenal, when Alan Pardew's men turned around a half-time battering to earn a point in the dying minutes.

Newcastle trailed Arsene Wenger's side 4-0 at half-time at St James' Park, with all four goals coming before the half hour mark. But two penalties from Joey Barton and a goal for Leon Best put the home team on the verge of history.

And then with just three minutes on the clock a free kick was swung into the Arsenal penalty area but headed clear and seemingly away from danger, step forward Cheick Tiote's thunderous left boot:

Not only was it a good goal in the closing minutes of a game at home to earn a point in the most dramatic fashion but it was the first time a side had come back from 4-0 to earn a point in the Premier League, the perfect package.

Incredibly it was the only goal Tiote scored for Newcastle and one of only four goals in his career in total.

It's not a bad strike for your only one for a team and if nothing else it makes him a legend of the Premier League era.

Tiote would eventually move from the Magpies in 2017 to join Chinese side Beijing Enterprises but sadly he played just 11 games for them before his tragic death from a cardiac arrest in training, aged just 30.

The Ivorian will always be etched in the history of the Premier League for his brilliant left peg strike against Arsenal.
