Kazrim Benzema posted a salty reply after France Football Federation president Noel Le Graet made comments about his absence from the France national side for the upcoming World Cup.
Benzema is a clearly talented individual, having led the line for Real Madrid for almost nine years, but he still has his critics, both at national and club level.
He was left out of the France 2018 World Cup squad by manager Didier Deschamps and Le Graet feels that this was the correct decision, despite being a supporter of the attacker before.
The FFF president said to L'Equipe: "This is an old story, and we cannot go back."
"Everyone agrees that he is a great player, he is always a starter with Real Madrid, but with France, he is part of the history.
"Our team now has a certain style, and we cannot go back on that.
The problem Benzema faces is that the France side has so much depth to it. Competing for places with the 30-year-old were the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Olivier Giroud, Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé, Alexandre Lacazette, Anthony Martial and Nabil Fekir - a very hard call to make for Deschamps.
Even still, Benzema has hit back at Le Graet for getting involved. He took to social media.
It's roughly translated as: "Mr. Le Graet, with all due respect, you have lost an opportunity to be silent because I discover your true face who is not the one who said a lot to love me and not to interfere with the selection and choice of coach!"
Wow. You tell them, Benzema. Who does that two-faced president think he is anyway?
Safe to say, the tweet has gone viral.
