Axel Witsel is set for a return to European after joining Chinese Super League side Tianjin Quanjian.

The central-midfielder, is it reported, will join up with Borussia Dortmund, with a medical set for tomorrow. It's clearly a deal which is in the advanced stages.

Belgium outlet Voetbalzone report that, according to RTBF: Tianjin suffers neither profit nor loss on 29-year-old Witsel, as the club from the Super League took over the 96-fold international from Belgium in the winter of 2017 for twenty million from Zenit St. Petersburg. Witsel played 47 official matches for Tianjin and in it he scored six goals and three assists."

Witsel was part of the Belgium World Cup squad which did very well at the tournament in Russia. They smashed it passed the group stages, beating England 1-0 in the final game and setting course into the semifinals, where they were knocked out by close rivals France, the eventual winners of the competition. In the third place play-off, Belgium beat England 2-0 and rounded off a superb campaign, with the likes of Romelu Lukaku putting in a breathtaking showing, his dummy in the final seconds of the match against Japan being one of the moves of the tournament.

Witsel, despite being 29-years-old, still has much to give and can really give any side he joins a massive boost in the centre of the park.
