Thiago Silva is clearly a popular member of the Chelsea squad - so much so that Reece James serenaded the Brazilian after his goal against Sheffield United.

Silva bagged his first goal for Chelsea with their third in the 4-1 Premier League win over the Blades at Stamford Bridge.

And the video below shows James singing the star's name during the celebrations.

After an initial shaky start to life in West London, Silva is now starting to look the real deal.

Silva endured some difficulties on his debut against West Bromwich Albion as he made a high-profile error, but Chelsea have now conceded just once in their last six matches across all competitions.

The veteran defender joined Chelsea on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

The 36-year-old penned a 12-month deal as Frank Lampard looked to bolster a Blues defence that conceded the most goals (54) in the Premier League top 10 in 2019/20.

Silva played more than 200 games for PSG during his eight years in the French capital, winning seven Ligue 1 titles.

After the win over Sheffield United, Chelsea boss Lampard was quick to heap praise on the centre-back.

He said: "He played in the Champions League final a few weeks before coming here, but his level of performance since he's been here, without much of a pre-season, the influence, individual performance, the way he is between games, he attacks training so diligently.

"He looks at opposition when we are having meetings, he wants to know. I have a lot of conversations with him. He has been brilliant; I can't say enough about him. Then he gets the goal today, a very good goal. He has made a big impact.

"I am very open to make sure we give him the best rest in between and make things easy for him. He looks fit, he is fit, he's fresh and he is helping and rubbing off on others around him. Long may that continue."
