Fans Hit Out At Commentator Who Bizarrely Mocked Cristiano Ronaldo After Lionel Messi Wins League With PSG

A commentator poked fun at Cristiano Ronaldo following Man United's defeat at Arsenal.

Fans online have hit out at an American commentator who bizarrely mocked Cristiano Ronaldo after Lionel Messi won the league title with Paris Saint-Germain.

Messi scored a stunning strike in his side's 1-1 draw with Lens, with the result crowning PSG as French champions.

Ronaldo, on the other hand, endured a difficult day on Saturday as Manchester United suffered a crushing 3-1 defeat at Arsenal.

He scored to bring up his 100th Premier League goal of his career, but was ultimately on the losing team.

It looks unlikely the 37-year-old will be competing in the Champions League next season with their latest league defeat leaving them in sixth place.

And that sentiment was ruthlessly brought up by a commentator, who slammed Ronaldo after Messi helped PSG to domestic glory.

"Ronaldo of Manchester United are confirmed to be Conference League team in sixth or seventh place," he said while laughing.

"The GOAT Messi scores really the goal that gets the title for PSG."

His comment live on air didn't go down well on social media.

One Twitter user tweeted: "This obsession by grown ass people. Ronaldo is truly the goat."

A second wrote: "A commentator saying this on live tele would be disgraceful but it’s borderline evil considering what Ronaldo’s going through rn."

A third added: "Unreal PR, Ronaldo lives rent free in haters head."

A fourth commented: "This is really embarrassing especially coming from a grown man who supposed to know about football."

PSG have now won eight of the last 10 Ligue 1 titles, with the seven-time Ballon d'Or enjoying immediate success in his debut season in France.

As for Ronaldo, he'll go this season without a trophy with Man United enduring a tough campaign.
