Liverpool star Darwin Nunez mercilessly trolled Everton with scoreline gesture during brawl

Darwin Nunez had an understated role in the brawl involving Liverpool and Everton players, trolling the opposition with a scoreline gesture.

Liverpool finally picked up their first league win of 2023 courtesy of goals from Mo Salah and Cody Gakpo at the hands of their Merseyside rivals.

It was a performance much closer to what you would normally expect from a Jurgen Klopp team, with the energy levels increased considerably in the victory.

Late on it kicked off when Andy Robertson and Jordan Pickford had a disagreement after the full-back kicked the ball away.

Pickford confronted him and barged into the Scot, who responded by laughing in his face. Conor Coady, who came through the Liverpool academy, took issue with that and told Robertson where to go.

Chaos erupted as players from both sides arrived on the scene. Amadou Onana looked like he wanted to fight Kostas Tsimikas on the bench, but somehow Nunez wasn't scrapping.

The Uruguayan, who assisted the opening goal for Salah, had not long been substituted for the returning Diogo Jota.

But Nunez kept his cool and instead rattled up Everton players by reminding them what score it was. He put two fingers up and then did a 'zero' shape with his finger and thumb right in front of Idrissa Gana Gueye.

Liverpool fans absolutely loved the antics from their summer signing and reacted on social media.

One said: "I love this man so much."

A second added: "Now obviously the main reason we love him tonight is that assist, and generally terrorising Everton’s defence. But, we kind of also love him for this excellent mocking of Everton players at full-time by reminding them of the score. Top derby performance!"

A third stated: "Just when I think that I can't possibly love Nunez more, he gives me reason to love him even more."

A fourth commented: "This guy is entertaining unintentionally and intentionally."

A fifth wrote: Darwin having a degree in instigation science he is so real actually."
