Donny van de Beek tried to impress Cristiano Ronaldo in the warm-up, his reaction is going viral

Donny van de Beek tried to impress Cristiano Ronaldo in the warm-up, his reaction is going viral

The brilliant moment happened ahead of Monday's clash against Liverpool.

Cristiano Ronaldo's hilarious reaction when Donny van de Beek attempted a few 'skill moves' in the warm up ahead of Monday's game against Liverpool is going viral.

It's safe to say he wasn't overly impressed...

Van de Beek, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Everton, replaced fellow midfielder Bruno Fernandes in the latter stages of United's impressive 2-1 win against Jurgen Klopp's side.

With competition high at Old Trafford, the Dutch midfielder has been limited to first-team starts since joining the club in a £35 million deal from Ajax.

Erik ten Hag, however, is convinced Van de Beek can turn around his form at Old Trafford.

In fact, the United boss is backing him to force his way into the starting line-up in the near future, according to The Mirror, who suggest the 25-year-old has been training well at Carrington's base.

For now though, Van de Beek will have to remain patient.

He will, however, be hoping for more game time in the coming months under Ten Hag, although these dodgy warm-up skills didn't exactly impress onlookers.

In fact, it appears teammate Cristiano Ronaldo couldn't help but direct a few laughs at the Dutchman after showing off his close control and dribbling.

One fan said: "He gives me proper Homelander vibes. These are his exact mannerisms," while another commented: "Ronaldo could barely stop himself from laughing after seeing them stepovers."

A third wrote: "Ronny was like, 'Yeah you did great...'"

Last month, a reporter wanted to let Donny van de Beek know that Manchester United fans still have "a lot of love and support" for him during a wholesome pre-season post-match interview.

The midfielder was introduced at half-time during Tuesday's pre-season clash against Crystal Palace in Melbourne, replacing Scott McTominay.

And it didn't long for Van de Beek to make an impact. Just three minutes after his arrival, he showed great composure to cut the ball back to Marcus Rashford, who tapped in from close range.

After the full-time whistle, the Dutchman was asked about United's fan base and the support they've given him through difficult times at Old Trafford. The smile on his face says it all.
