Chelsea ‘to unveil new home shirt without a sponsor after U-turn’

Chelsea ‘to unveil new home shirt without a sponsor after U-turn’

Chelsea are still searching for a shirt sponsor for the new season

Chelsea will reportedly unveil their new home shirt on Monday without a sponsor.

At the end of the 22/23 season, Chelsea’s deal with mobile phone company Three expired.

The Stamford Bridge club have since been trying to strike a new deal with interested parties but so far, nothing has materialised.

Last month, it was reported that Chelsea wanted Paramount+ as a shirt sponsor but Premier League rules would have hampered chances of that happening.

Recently, it was claimed that the Blues were exploring a deal with gambling firm Stake.com.

However, the club decided to make a U-turn after being hit with heavy criticism by fans and supporters groups.

Now, according to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are set to unveil their new kit for the 23/24 season without a sponsor in order to allow fans to order the new shirt in time when their new sponsors are finally confirmed.

SPORTbible has contacted Chelsea for comment.

Fans will be able to pre-order the new Chelsea shirt which is set to be available before or just after the start of the new season.

The Blues will kick off their 23/24 Premier League season with a huge clash against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

Ahead of the new season, freshly appointed manager Mauricio Pochettino said: “When we met for first time and agreed I would start on 1 July, Laurence, Paul and the owners showed me the strategic plan and I agreed.

“The club started to work on the ideas and I think is doing a fantastic job. I'm happy, and it continues to work in this way with the plan that we agreed. Of course, from 1 July I am now more involved and I work more closely with Paul and Laurence to take the best decisions for the club.”

He added: “My target is to win. Of course, it is to do a good job and play well, as that is our style and philosophy. If you do not win at a club like Chelsea, for sure you are going to struggle.

“It is so important to try to achieve difficult things, because in the Premier League is really tough, many teams want the same as us [trophies].”
