30,000 Newell's Old Boys Fans Had An Insane Pyro Party At Training Session Prior To Rosario Derby

Newell's Old Boys gave their players an incredible reception in an open training session ahead of the crunch clash with Rosario Central.

Fans of Newell's Old Boys held an insane pyro party to get the team fired up for the upcoming Rosario derby.

The Argentine outfit, who Lionel Messi played for as a youngster before joining Barcelona, travel to rivals Rosario Central on Sunday.

And Newell's have a tradition of giving their team a special send-off a few days before the crunch clash.

On Thursday evening, a staggering 30,000 fans packed into the Estadio Marcelo Bielsa, named after their legendary former manager, to show their support.

And the scenes were just stunning. The whole stadium was lit with flares and firecrackers, while fans had their phone torches on for extra visuals.

Ultras climbed on the fences and chanted and there was an incredible firework display in the sky.

The players were on the turf watching and taking it all in. You just know there were goosebumps galore and this wasn't even a game; it was an open training session.

This type of thunderous ovation is typical in Argentina, where fans ooze passion and football is more than just a game.

In 2018, ahead of the biggest game in their history, Boca Juniors held an open training session at their iconic 'La Bombonera' stadium and supporters piled in to give Guillermo Barros Schelotto's side one last boost.

Fans queued up in the early hours to ensure they got entry to the stadium and the club apologised for many having to be turned away because of the ridiculous turnout.

They completely sold out the ground for a training session.
