Championship Side Targeting Season-Long Loan For Manchester City Forward

Championship Side Targeting Season-Long Loan For Manchester City Forward

Morgan Rogers of Manchester City is a target for Blackpool this summer.

Prodigious winger Morgan Rogers is one of Blackpool’s prime summer targets, as they seek a potential loan deal for the forward ahead of the new season.

It is an encouraging sight to witness a whole host of youngsters at Manchester City take a step forward in their senior careers next season.

For instance, it has been revealed by several credible sources that a bigger role is in store for the likes of Cole Palmer and James McAtee in the upcoming campaign.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Darko Gyabi, Gavin Bazunu and Romeo Lavia have all joined Premier League sides such as Leeds and Southampton on a permanent basis.

CJ Egan-Riley has also betted on his talent by signing for Vincent Kompany’s Burnley for £300,000 this summer.

Samuel Edozie could also be set for a £10 million move to Bayer Leverkusen, while the likes of Tommy Doyle and Taylor Harwood-Bellis have headed out on season-long loan spells to Sheffield United and Burnley respectively.

However, a youngster whose summer plans still remain up in the air is the highly-rated Morgan Rogers.

Signed from West Brom at 17, the Englishman came with the reputation of being one of the most gifted young forwards in the country.

A left-winger by trade, the teenager spent two years as a part of the Elite Development Squad (EDS).

Sent out on loan to Lincoln City in January last year, the skillful wideman impressed by putting up six goals and four assists in 23 starts in League One.

However, the teenager failed to thrive for Championship side AFC Bournemouth last term, making 15 league appearances before being excluded from the side’s last 19 games.

As the 2022/23 season fast approaches, a new opportunity may be on the horizon for the England U-20 international, with a new club eyeing his presence on a temporary basis.

According to a report by Lancs Live, Blackpool are interested in signing Morgan Rogers on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

It has been revealed that a potential loan stint could well have come to fruition in January, had winger Josh Bowler joined either Nottingham Forest or Bournemouth.

The Sky Blues forward is claimed to have been a transfer target for the Championship outfit for a number of windows, especially last season during former manager Neil Critchley’s final season in charge at the club.

With Blackpool targeting a whole host of fresh additions ahead of the new season, it is stated that ‘progress’ is being made to sign Rogers, who played under current club boss Michael Appleton at Lincoln.

Reuniting with a manager who got the best out of him in his relatively short senior career, Morgan Rogers could potentially shine out on loan at Blackpool.
