Son Of Former Striker Reveals Erling Haaland's Early Memories Of Manchester City

Son Of Former Striker Reveals Erling Haaland's Early Memories Of Manchester City

Fellow Manchester City youth player, Colin Rosler has discussed Erling Haaland’s motivation behind joining Pep Guardiola's side.

While it goes without saying why Erling Haaland’s move to Manchester City has been the most blockbuster signing so far, one can also safely say that there has not been a more romantic transfer so far.

For starters, the Norwegian international is set to continue his father and former Manchester City midfielder, Alf Inge-Haaland’s legacy at the club - which is quite a rare sight in football.

But this feel-good story began right from the now-striking sensation’s childhood days, as several pictures on social media have circulated that showcase him donning the Sky Blues’ shirts with pride.

In his first interview after being announced as a Manchester City player, the former RB Salzburg forward also went on to reveal that his affinity with the club is deep-rooted to the extent that he was in attendance at a handful of games at the iconic Maine Road.

A viral video of him walking alongside ex-teammate Jude Bellingham in the tunnel whilst describing the Etihad Stadium as ‘beautiful’ ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League quarter-final clash against Manchester City in 2021 is another instance of the revered goalscorer’s love for the club.

Norwegian defender Colin Rosler, the son of former Manchester City striker Uwe Rosler and an ex-youth player at the club himself, has gave an insight into how finally donning the Sky Blues badge was his fellow countryman’s motivation for making the switch to East Manchester this summer.

“He’s always been a Blue and it was his dream to one day play for Manchester City. He’s always had that drive and dream to one day play for Manchester City and follow in his dad’s footsteps,” Rosler revealed.

During the race amongst several of the European elite to secure the services of Erling Haaland, there were no shortage of reports that speculated that the player would prefer a move to Real Madrid due to his preference of playing in the La Liga as opposed to the Premier League.

However, Colin Rosler’s comments are a sign of the fact that despite virtually every top side in the continent’s attempts to prise away the youngster from Germany, joining the Premier League champions was always at the top of his agenda.

While Manchester City fans have been witness to a host of big-name signings that have managed to successfully get them off the edge of their seats, a fellow blue in Erling Haaland’s arrival has brought forth a unique buzz amongst the fanbase.
