Anthony Joshua's latest defence of his heavyweight world titles could be off after reports emerged that would be opponent Kubrat Pulev has an injury that will mean he has to pull out of the fight.

AJ last fought in April in Wembley when he beat Wladimir Klitschko to defend his IBF title and winning WBA (super) and IBO belts in what was an instant modern classic of a fight.

The Brit and the Ukrainian were supposed to go at it again in November in Las Vegas but the 41 year-old decided to retire instead leaving the world champ needing a different opponent.

The former Olympian is due to face Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev in Cardiff on October 28th but rumours started circulating that the 36 year old has actually picked up an injury and will have to pull out of the fight.

World Boxing News report via a Bulgarian journalist claims a partial pectoral tear suffered on October 6th but unreported to Eddie Hearn since then will force the IBF mandatory challenger to back out of the fight.

Boxing fans took to social media to ask for the fight they'd like to see in its place, Joshua vs Dillian Whyte 2:

A fight against IBF third ranked fighter Carlos Takam is also a possibility with Whyte already on the undercard and due to face Robert Helenius.
