He was just a young child, but he smashed the garbage man.

Mike Tyson once assaulted a garbage man for putting his favourite dead bird in the trash.

Tyson has had a love for pigeons ever since he was a boy and during his challenging upbringing, he found himself beating up a garbage man over a pigeon.

A garbage man put his crate with his favourite pigeon, who had just died, into the trash compactor.

Tyson rushed out and hit him with a "titanic right hand" which knocked him out causing the garbage man to convulse on the floor like an "infantile retard."

Speaking about his childhood, he recalled: "One morning I woke up and found my favorite pigeon, Julius, had died I was devastated and was gonna use his crate as my stickball bat to honor him.

"I left the crate on my stoop and went in to get something and I returned to see the sanitation man put the crate into the crusher.

"I rushed him and caught him flush on the temple with a titanic right hand he was out cold, convulsing on the floor like an infantile retard."

The former heavyweight world champion also threw his first punch over a pigeon.

When he was just 10, a thug confronted him and killed his pigeon to which Tyson responded by throwing his first punch in anger.

"The guy ripped the head off my pigeon. This was the first thing I ever loved in my life, the pigeon," he explained.

"I don't know why, I feel ridiculous just trying to explain it," he added. "[Pigeons] are just so much like people."
