Lennox Lewis Puts Down Deontay Wilder's Claims He Could Knockout Mike Tyson

Lennox Lewis has stated that he 'doesn't see' Deontay Wilder being able to beat Mike Tyson in his prime.
The retired fighter took to Twitter to have his say on Wilder's claims that he would 'destroy' Tyson back in 2018.
I just heard @BronzeBomber said he would destroy a young @MikeTyson. My thoughts are that it's easy to talk until u actually get in the ring. I like Wilder but he's never been in there with someone that ferocious who truly wants to break his ribs with every punch. I don't see it!

The Brit did go on to praise the 'Bronze Bomber' for his confidence and the way he is constantly improving while WBC heavyweight champion.
I love @BronzeBomber's confidence... u need that to sit atop the heavyweight division... he's hungry and shows up in probably best shape in division... but there's levels to it... and he's still adding to his arsenal.

There is no doubt that Wilder is a big believer in his own abilities so his claims about knocking out 'The Baddest Man on the Planet' aren't out of character.
When TMZ specifically asked Wilder in 2018 if he would stand a chance against Tyson, he unequivocally responded: "Yes."
But the 'Bronze Bomber' went on to proclaim that he fears no heavyweight, past or present, by adding that whether they're "old school [or] new school, I knock them all out."
The 34-year-old does have one of the fiercest strikes in boxing today, but it's hard to compare him to the skill of a prime Tyson.

Wilder will need to be at his best for his upcoming rematch with Tyson Fury.
Their highly anticipated rematch is set to take place February 22 after a controversial draw last December.
It's the only result that tarnishes Wilder's otherwise 100% record since his pro debut in 2008.
Should he come out on top against the 'Gypsy King', a unification match with Anthony Joshua could be on the cards.
Joshua defeated Andy Ruiz Jr on Saturday in Saudi Arabia to reclaim his world titles.

Despite Wilder's claims we'll 'never see' a unification bout, 'AJ' seems ready for a match against the American.
"I would love to make that my next fight. I'm taking it one step at a time. Whenever they are ready, they know where to find me."
Do you think Joshua and Wilder will ever face off?
