Boxer 'completely out of it' gives post-fight interview after getting knocked out, footage is worrying

Rolly Romero gave an in-ring interview following his crushing defeat to Isaac Cruz.

Rolly Romero gave a worrying post-fight interview whilst 'completely out of it' following his crushing defeat to Isaac Cruz.

Romero surrendered the WBA super-lightweight title as he was badly beaten by Cruz in their Las Vegas showdown on Saturday.

Cruz put on a masterclass as he dominated Romero before securing a stoppage victory in round eight.

He landed a brutal assault with at least six straight shots to the head, forcing referee Tom Taylor to halt the contest.

Jordan Plant spoke to both fighters in the ring following the conclusion of the 140lbs clash.

But Romero seemed out on his feet and struggled to get his words out.

The 29-year-old eventually strung a sentence together as he thanked everybody for coming out.

"I want to tell everybody, thanks for coming out," he said, while looking visibly dazed.

"And honestly, happy Easter everybody, you guys. It's like Jesus was resurrected, I'll be back.

"I want to tell everybody, happy Easter and thank you for supporting me and following me."

The decision to interview him moments after suffering a devastating knockout angered boxing fans on social media.

One X user wrote: "Should probably take him in asap. Doesn’t look good. Praying for a speedy recovery Rolly."

A second tweeted: "This is when his people should take him to go get looked at right away, instead of trying to answer questions."

A third added: "They need to think twice about interviewing fighters right after they've been KO'd. Rolly Romero needs medical attention ASAP. Don't ask him for a play by play of his own beating."

A fourth said: "I don’t even like the guy, but this is just sad to watch and wrong. Don’t interview concussed fighters."

Another commented: "Why would they interview someone who just got TKO’d!? Bro needed to be in the back w/ the doctors."
