Tyson Fury has urged Anthony Joshua to defeat Kubrat Pulev in his next fight so the two can square off soon.

Both world champions came face-to-face last week for the first time since agreeing to meet in a 'Battle of Britain' showdown.

Matchroom Boxing chief Eddie Hearn has revealed what went down on the streets of Marbella and he stressed it was a friendly exchange.

"It was amazing, people think it was a set up," Hearn explained to iFL TV per Metro.

"AJ said he was walking down the road and Fury drove up and opened the window and was like, 'Alright?'

"I think he said to AJ, 'Make sure you beat Kubrat Pulev'. And AJ said, 'Make sure you beat Deontay Wilder'.

"And they both said, 'I will, and I'll see you next year'."

IBF, WBO and WBA (Super) champion Joshua posted a photo of the exchange to Twitter captioned: "Sweeeeeeeeeeeet Caroline!! Ohhhh ohhh ohhhhh."

Fury, who holds the WBC title, responded on Instagram with: "Good times never seem so good. 2021 it's going off."

Joshua and Fury haven't fought since defeating Andy Ruiz Jr and Deontay Wilder respectively to win their titles.

'AJ' was set to face Pulev in June before the coronavirus pandemic brought a halt to sport across the world.

A date is yet to be set for their fight.

Meanwhile, Fury's third fight with longtime rival Wilder is currently mooted for December 18.

Fury and Joshua's eventual clash would be the first undisputed heavyweight unification fight in over 20 years.

However, Hearn went on to reveal he'd rather see Fury take on WBC's mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte before jumping to a two-fight series with Joshua.

"If they [Fury-Wilder] fight in early December, and we make an agreement to fight in early March, yes, we will accept that.

"I'll do Whyte-Fury. I'll stick the dough up. It's a huge fight.

"We haven't heard from Deontay Wilder. He hasn't been vocal about the third fight. But we understand the position.

"Tyson Fury has got to fight Deontay Wilder. Good luck, crack on. It's difficult for everyone.

"Will they do Fury against Wilder 3, and will they do it in November or December?

"The cut-off date for Whyte to fight for the WBC title is the end of February, and we expect that to be kept to."
