Sara Errani has accused Kiki Bertens of faking an injury after she was carted off the court in a wheelchair following their French Open clash.

Bertens had just clinched a second-round victory in a 7-6 3-6 9-7 thriller at Rolland Garros.

But the Dutchwoman was left physically and emotionally exhausted by the back and fourth match and required over 45 minutes of medical attention for her severe leg cramps.

Seen sobbing in agony court-side, Bertens was then placed in a wheelchair and carted off by medics.

But not everyone was convinced that her injury was genuine.

"I don't like it when somebody is joking on you," Bertens' opponent Errani said after the incident.

"She played an amazing match, but I don't like the situation.

"One hour she's injured, then she runs like never. I don't like that.

"She goes out of the court on the chair, and now she's in the locker perfect, in the restaurant. I don't like these things. I'm sorry.

"I congratulated her for the match. Then after the people say to me that I'm unfair person.

"It's funny for me these things. I don't think she had a good attitude on court. I didn't like that."

Errani's harsh accusations didn't sit well with Bertens who returned serve with no hesitation.

"She can say whatever she feels like," Bertens said.

"Maybe I should take some more acting classes or should pursue a career in that?

"I didn't feel really good on court. All the time the cramps were coming and going again.

"I started a total body cramp. It was my left leg, right foot, both hands. A lot of places.

"I kept on fighting and I still don't know how I managed to win."
