Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow has carved his name into the State of Origin history books.

The lightning-quick centre has bagged a try on debut for the Queensland Maroons, putting him in an elite club of stars to do the same.

After Tino Fa'asuamaleaui broke through the New South Wales defensive line with a strong run, he did ever so well to offload the ball to an onrushing Tabuai-Fidow who had nothing but green grass and the try line in sight.

With no Blues players in his path, Tabuai-Fidow grounded the ball and celebrated in front of the roaring Gold Coast crowd.

It might well be the easiest try he'll ever score, but it doesn't matter.

Tabuai-Fidow now joins a list of Maroons and Blues legends to have scored on their Origin debuts.

Anthony Minichiello, Billy Moore, Wayne Pearce, Cameron Smith, Scott Prince, Mark Gasnier, Arthur Beetson, Mario Fenech and Ben Elias are a few notable members of that elite club.

Now Tabuai-Fidow, at just 19 years of age, joins them.
