Collingwood youngster Jack Ginnivan has been blasted for carrying on with his celebrations after the team's Round 1 win against St Kilda.
The Magpies recorded a 17-point win over the Saints with raucous post-match scenes following, which saw Collingwood posting a video of the team's reactions to social media.
In the video, the 19-year-old described the game as "light work" and "the first of many" after being handed the filming reins for by the AFL side's media team.
Former Port Adelaide champion Kane Cornes took aim at Ginnivan and his teammates, unimpressed with their reactions.
Talking to Nine's Sunday Footy Show, Cornes said: "(Collingwood) finished 17th last year. You've beaten St Kilda, who no one expects will do anything this year, stop carrying on.
"That's Jack Ginnivan, you've played six games. Just relax. Earn some respect in the game before you go on carrying on like that.
"If I'm (Adelaide coach) Matthew Nicks, I'm playing Collingwood next week and I'm showing that vision going, 'who do these guys think they are?'
"You don't see Geelong carrying on like that. You don't see Richmond and dynasty teams carry on like that. Earn some respect before you start carrying on like that, saying it was 'light work' and 'the first of many'. There's a thing about winning in a humble way."
Ginnivan had 10 disposals and two goals against St Kilda as he started off his second season at the Magpies.
However, not everyone agreed with Corne's scathing response to the antics, with fellow co-panellist Damien Barrett defending the actions of Ginnivan.
In response, he said: "It's going to be a very long year on this panel if you're carrying on like that after Round 1.
"What is wrong with it? You just described it as a blockbuster and like a movie set, and that's part of the movie.
"I've been fortunate enough to be down there over the summer and there is a genuine feeling of the young kids taking the club with them. That's just a part of it."
Collingwood legend Nathan Buckley also defended Ginnivan, adding that personality was part of the modern game.
Buckley told SEN Breakfast: "He was up and about. He's a bit of a lad, Jack.
"What I would say about you guys in the media ... you want personality from players and coaches, you want 'give us a little bit of colour, don't give us the tried and true' - and then when someone pops their head up, you want to cut it off."
The 102 to 85 point win for Collingwood signalled new coach Craig McRae's first victory of his coaching career.
