Respected NBA Reporter Claims LeBron James Is Clearly 'Recruiting' Steph Curry

The ESPN reporter says all the praise LeBron was giving Steph during the All-Star game was part of an intricate recruitment scheme.

It's hard to imagine Steph Curry in another NBA jersey that isn't his iconic Golden State No.30.

But according to one respected reporter, the three-time NBA champion could be tempted into swapping his Warriors strip for a Lakers one.

ESPN's Brian Windhorst has claimed that LeBron James was getting in Curry's ear during the All-Star game earlier this month in an attempt to lure him to Los Angeles.

"I thought it was hilarious, over All-Star weekend, LeBron praising Steph up one side and down the other, how much he loves his game, how much he respects him," Windhorst said on his 'Hoop Collective' podcast.

"LeBron has obviously begun the recruiting of Steph, just in the event that he wouldn't extend (his Warriors contract) and that somehow he would become a free agent and the Lakers would have a swing at him."

Let's be brutally honest, it's highly unlikely that the legendary Curry will ever leave the team that drafted him all the way back in 2009.

But that being said, he and LeBron were getting very cosy during the NBA All-Star game with fans absolutely loving their newfound bromance.

As for the recruitment claims, that notion was quickly shut down by Nick Friedell.

"He's gonna sign," the Warriors reporter for ESPN added on the podcast.

"There's no way that Steph - who has only ever said he wants to stay with the Warriors his whole career, and who has only ever said, 'I can't wait to play with Klay [Thompson] again, it's going to be great, and Draymond [Green is] still rolling through either the end of his prime or towards that other stage at a different point in his career' - that Steph is suddenly going to walk away.

"Steph is at least gonna sign the extension with the Warriors. Now, what happens a few years from now? We'll see, because I don't like what I'm seeing from the Warriors right now... Steph is staying with the Warriors, you can bank on that."

Even just the prospect of Steph and LeBron together on the same team would strike fear into the other NBA franchises - especially the Warriors.

Seeing Curry leave would be one thing, but witnessing him win championship after championship with LeBron by his side would surely be even worse.
