Cricket Stars Kicked Out Of Hotel As Police Shut Down Post-Ashes Bender

Some of the players were still wearing their cricket whites from the previous day's game!

A bunch of cricket stars were reportedly booted out of a hotel in the early hours of Monday morning after some all-night Ashes celebrations.

Australian players Alex Carey, Travis Head and Nathan Lyon were seen partying alongside Englishmen Joe Root and James Anderson in a video which has now gone viral online.

Incredibly, some of the players were still wearing their cricket whites from the previous day's game.

Unreal form!

Let the boys play, we say.

In a clip posted on social media by the popular page 'Mad Mondays', the fellas can be seen enjoying a few not-so-quiet alcoholic beverages while sitting on what appears to be a swanky rooftop in Hobart.

And after what we'll assume was a rather large session on the sauce, the group were clearly struggling to keep the noise down, which is when authorities intervened - there's always one, isn't there?

"Too loud. You have obviously been asked to pack up, so we've been asked to come," one police officer said.

"Time for bed. Thank you. They just want to pack up."

In a statement issued to the Herald and The Age, authorities said: "Tasmania Police attended the Crowne Plaza Hobart on Monday morning after reports were made of intoxicated people in a function area.

"The guests were spoken to by police, just after 6:00am, and left the area when asked.

"No further action will be taken by police."

When the footage went viral, people were keen to know exactly what time it was when the cops rocked up.

It turns out intrigued viewers didn't have to wait too long to find out with some eagle-eyed fans noticing the giant clock on the church in the background which read 6:30am.

Just remember, the Ashes were wrapped up long before that, so the lads certainly weren't messin' about with their - shall we say - lengthy celebrations.

To be fair, it's just great to see both sets of players enjoying each others' company and sharing a beer together after an Ashes series - although it has to be said, there are a few half-drunk bottles on the table in the viral clip.

It appears a few of the players clearly taped out early though, our bet being on Steve Smith back-dooring it first to go home and watch some more cricket videos on YouTube.
