The two Aussie sports icons didn't hold back either...

These two clearly don't like each other.

And if their pre-fight war of words is anything to go by, then the all-Aussie bout itself is shaping up to be pure entertainment.

Former WBA heavyweight champion Lucas Browne and ex-rugby league star Paul Gallen have traded barbs ahead of their proposed match-up in mid-April.

Brown, who boasts a professional record of 29 wins and 2 losses, hasn't fought since 2019 but insists Gallen's promoters are stalling on getting the fight signed, sealed and delivered.

He took to social media to vent his frustrations with Gallen's supposed delay tactics.

"I've agreed to the date," Browne said in a video.

"April 14, my birthday - what a great day to bash you.

"I've agreed on the purse, yes I'm signed so it's up to your promoter to sort it out.

"I've got nothing to do with it. You've got nothing to do with it. It's now the promoter.

"I've agreed, you've agreed, everyone's f***ing agreed. Now all we have to do is get in there and fight. Let's stop bullsh**ing around, I want to see it, you want to see it. Let's do it."

Despite his experience in the ring against some of the best boxers in the world, Browne is no stranger to squaring off against rugby league players too.

His last bout was a TKO victory over ex-NRL star John Hopoate.

Gallen is next in line, but it seems Browne's remarks about "bashing" him didn't sit too well with the Cronulla Sharks and New South Wales Blues legend.

"I thought I'd better reply to big b***h daddy Browne about me and other people he wants to fight in Australia," Gallen replied in his own video posted on social media.

"To let you know the whole truth, Matt Rose has been in negotiations with Lucas and his manager about fighting me on April 14 - a fight I've agreed to.

"The problem is Lucas has multiple contracts with multiple promoters, one of those promoters wants to be heavily compensated to release Lucas to fight me.

"That compensation number is extreme and this is on top of the six figures Lucas wants to fight me, he wants more than six figures after he said he'd bash me for nothing.

"So Lucas if you want the fight - I've got bigger fish to fry at the back end of the year, not bums like you - you need to sort yourself out and take a bit of reduced fee. The fight is there for you. Stop carrying on like I'm the one dogging it because it's not me."

Gallen is fresh off the back of his win over mixed martial arts great Mark Hunt.

The 39-year-old put on a great performance at Bankwest Stadium to keep his undefeated, unblemished record in tact - let's see if he can do the same against a bloke simply known as "Big Daddy".
