Aussie boxing fans are set for a huge May treat.

No Limit Boxing have announced a mega event to take place on May 11 that will be an epic fight night, featuring Paul Gallen, Harry Garside, and Nikita Tszyu.

The event will take place at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre.

Gallen will face Kris Terzievski, Garside defends his Australian lightweight title against Layton McFerran barely a month after his last bout and Tszyu takes on the undefeated Mason Smith in his second professional fight.

It will be the second time the promotion has put on a star-studded fight night, as Gallen fought former UFC heavyweight star Mark Hunt and Tim Tszyu squared off against Bowyn Morgan at CommBank Stadium in 2020.

Speaking at a press conference to announce the event, Gallen admitted his return to the ring was about money.

"At the end of the day, as I've said from day one, I want to get paid and the only way to get paid in this sport is to fight fights that are interesting, that people want to see."

Gallen will fight for the Australasian title, which played a big part in his choice to accept the fight.

"That was a huge carrot for me to try win that and do something no other rugby league player has done," Gallen said.

Garside, who is only into the early stages of his boxing career, will be in a tough battle against McFerran who, like Garside, has only tasted defeat just once.

"I absolutely love getting in the ring so when the opportunity came up, I couldn't say no," Garside said.

Tszyu will also face an undefeated opponent in Smith, with the 27-year-old defeating Aaron Stahl via TKO in his professional debut back in March.

"It's an honour to fight in that kind of stadium," Nikita said of becoming the third Tszyu to fight in Newcastle. "There's a legacy."
