One In Eight Men Think They Can Win A Point Off Serena Williams In A Tennis Match

The wild confidence levels is something only some of us introverts can dream of.

One in eight men reckon they genuinely have a chance against one of the greatest tennis players in history.

That's right, a new study has found that a big portion on males think they could beat 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams in a tennis match.

A poll conducted by YouGov posed the simple question: “Do you think if you were playing your very best tennis, you could win a point off Serena Williams?”

Of the 1,732 adults surveyed in Great Britain, the results are slightly concerning.

12 per cent of men (one in eight) and three per cent of women responded with: “I think I could”.

Meanwhile, 14 per cent of men and 10 per cent of women said they “don’t know” if they could or not.

I mean, these lads clearly back themselves, that's for sure.

It's the sort of wild, blind confidence levels that some of us introverts can only dream of possessing.

Me, on the other hand, I think Serena would have to be playing left-handed, be carrying some sort of injury that leaves her completely immobile or be wearing a blindfold for me to get remotely close to even hitting the ball back over the net.

Just remember, this is the same woman that was once ranked world No.1 for a whopping 319 weeks and won the Australian Open title without losing a single set while she was pregnant.

There's good reason why she is widely regarded as one of the greatest athletes of all-time.

When the results of the survey were released back in 2019, there was a mixed reaction.

A small portion of people (mainly blokes by the looks of things) actually justified the results.

Elsewhere, others couldn't help but see the funny side of things, questioning where on earth some humans get their confidence from.
