'LeSnoop Bryant!' - a 51-year-old Snoop Dog rolls back the years and pulls off sublime slam dunk

"He's still very much in his prime… healthy and active. 51 is not old, by far!" Time for the Los Angeles Lakers to sign up Snoop Dogg?

A 51-year-old Snoop Dogg rolled back the years and blew fans away by performing an incredible slam dunk, earning him the nickname ‘LeSnoop Bryant.’

Footage of the rap legend quickly made the rounds on social media (watch it in the video player below), with Snoop in the US state of California over the weekend.

Snoop, who is a Los Angeles Lakers fan, previously played basketball while he was at Long Beach Polytechnic High School.

ESPN claimed that Snoop’s basketball run saw him “even recruited by several colleges,” but the legendary rapper dedicated himself to a career in music.

According to reports, the Death Row Records icon took a trip down memory lane and played for the Polytechnic basketball team in Long Beach on the weekend.

Snoop was inside a gymnasium and was standing on the left side of the baseline before dribbling forward and pulling off a superb leap to land a powerful right-handed slam.

The ‘Doggfather’ was left grinning ear to ear in the footage, with onlookers cheering him on after his brilliant slam dunk.

Snoop also received love from his legion of fans on social media, with the ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ hitmaker showing he hasn’t lost his touch on the basketball court.

One fan posted: “Looks like Snoop is still getting high in more ways than one!”

“That’s very impressive. I don’t think I could dunk at 40 and I used to yam on people,” another Twitter user said.

While a third tweeted: “He’s still very much in his prime… healthy and active. 51 is not old, by far!”

A fourth added: “That’s actually impressive.”

And a fifth simply commented: “LeSnoop Bryant.”

The 17-time Grammy award-winning artist appeared to enjoy his time in California after linking up with his high school friends in Los Angeles.

Snoop took to his Twitter page and shared a photo of him and his high school friends recreating a snap of them all from 35 years ago.
