Conor McGregor declared the UFC GOAT and 'there's not even anyone that close'

Sean O'Malley has declared Conor McGregor the UFC GOAT and claims 'there's not even anyone that close' in glowing praise.

McGregor enjoyed an unprecedented ascent to UFC superstardom and made history by becoming the first fighter in UFC history to hold titles in two weight classes simultaneously.

And O'Malley has recognised McGregor's impressive journey in the UFC, calling him the greatest of all time.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, he said: "It’s crazy to look back on him when he first got in UFC, when he first fought Dustin Poirier,” O’Malley said on his YouTube channel.

"It just shows you. That’s why that motherf**ker is so big. Just his character at the beginning was so fun and entertaining.

"He’s the GOAT. When it comes to skillset, it’s hard to say who’s the G.O.A.T. Like, who’s the best, it’s hard to say."

The bantamweight talent added: “When it comes to who’s the G.O.A.T., who really blew up the sport, who took it to the next level, who was the most entertaining, who captivated the most people, Conor’s the GOAT.

"And there’s not even anyone that close."

O'Malley's claim about McGregor will divide opinion amongst the MMA community, but he's factoring in the Irishman transcending the sport.

McGregor, meanwhile, has been out of action since July 2021.

He's on a two-fight losing streak, having suffered back-to-back defeats to Dustin Poirier.

The 'Notorious' broke his leg in his TKO defeat to Poirier at UFC 264 but is closing in on his comeback.

As for O'Malley, he takes on Petr Yan in a huge bout at UFC 280.
