Thierry Henry Is Responsible For Scoring The Greatest Pre-Season Goal In History, Nothing Comes Close

On July 20, 2005, newly-appointed captain Thierry Henry produced arguably his most outrageous moment in an Arsenal shirt when he scored one of the all-time great pre-season goals in a friendly against Austrian side SC Weiz.

The Gunners knocked five past the fourth division side, with goals from Mathieu Flamini, David Bentley, Dennis Bergkamp and a brace from that man Henry sealing an emphatic win as Arsene Wenger prepared for the upcoming Premier League campaign.

It was a relatively straightforward tie but one of Henry's strikes was far from that.

On that day, around 2,500 fans inside the Siemens Energy Stadion witnessed a memorable finish from one of the world's best forwards. Are you ready for this?

The sequence begins when centre-back Philippe Senderos lofts a perfectly weighted through ball to the Frenchman, who then controls the pass with his thigh, flicks the ball over the defender's head with his right boot and volleys home with his left.

Henry proceeds to walk away like he's just completed a five-yard pass as his teammates celebrate a quite majestic strike.

Henry scored an impressive 228 goals during his time in North London, and would go on to be labelled one of the club's greatest players alongside the likes of Ian Wright, Patrick Vieira and Tony Adams.

There's no doubting the Frenchman's impact in the Premier League following his £11 million move from Juventus in August 1999.

To this day, Henry is the only player ever to have won the FWA Footballer of the Year three times and is often branded the best Premier League striker of all time.

Do you think Henry's strike against SC Weiz is his greatest in an Arsenal shirt? If not, which goal is?

Let us know in the comments. We don't think you'll be able to name a better pre-season goal, to be honest.
