Many Believe Hakan Calhanoglu Took The ‘Perfect’ Penalty In Coppa Italia Final, It's A Thing Of Beauty

This is the definition of top bins from the Inter Milan midfielder.

Hakan Calhanoglu scored one of the most satisfying penalties you'll see all season during Inter Milan's historic Coppa Italia win against Juventus - and it really is a thing of beauty.

A three-minute double from Ivan Perisic in extra-time helped Simone Inzaghi's side lift the trophy for the first time since 2011.

But it was this 'perfect' spot-kick from Calhanoglu that will be remembered most when it comes to goals scored in Wednesday's final. This is the definition of top-bins. Make sure you watch the other angles.

Here's how social media reacted to the spot-kick.

One fan on Twitter said: "That Calhanoglu penalty is, by quite a considerable distance, the best I've seen," while another commented: "Calhanoglu you damn demon. That penalty was too good my heart jumped."

A third wrote: "Calhanoglu played that penalty emphatically. Not even two keepers would have stopped that. What a take. Vintage."

It was a dramatic night at the Stadio Olimpico and Juve didn't have the best of starts when Nicolo Barella netted with just six minutes on the clock. In fact, Barella's strike was the fastest Coppa Italia final goal since 2015.

Inter went into the break with a 1-0 lead but Massimiliano Allegri clearly said something in the dressing room to spur on the Turin-based side.

Full-back Alex Sandro equalised in the 50th minute before Dusan Vlahovic scored his 33rd goal of the season in all competitions to give them the lead.

It looked like Juventus would go on and win the game but that incredible Calhanoglu penalty made it 2-2 before two goals from Perisic sealed a huge win for Inter, who currently sit two points behind leaders AC Milan in Serie A.

Inter manager Simone Inzaghi was delighted with the win. "I'm enormously pleased to share this trophy with my staff, who help me every day to prepare for three matches a week," he said in his post-match interview.

"We played a round of sixteen tie in the Champions League against Liverpool, we're the only team to beat them in 2022.

"We've dropped a few points in order to get the best out of those matches, but I have no regrets."
