Metz midfielder Jean-Jacques Danley produces one of the worst tackles of the season

Jean-Jacques Danley was shown a straight red card for Metz against Guingamp, marking the hosts third red card in the game.

Metz midfielder Jean-Jacques Danley received a straight red card after producing a sickening tackle against Guingamp this evening.

The hosts were leading 3-1 in the contest in the first half but completely lost their heads and had THREE players sent off.

Boubakar Kouyate and Alexandre Oukidja were both given their marching orders and then Danley joined them in being dismissed just before the hour mark.

The 22-year-old, a Haitian international, lunged in recklessly and could have caused a serious injury to his opponent.

He had got on the touch on the ball first but the follow through was late, high and dangerous and his opponent was lifted up in the air.

Danley shook his head as he walked off the pitch but in all truth he couldn't have any complaints over his red card.

Things threatened to spiral out of control in the fixture and the referee took the players off the pitch - primarily for his own safety.

When they returned, Guingamp, who had got back to 3-3, made their three-man advantage count and scored a further three goals to secure a 6-3 victory away from home.

Metz were able to complete the rest of the contest without receiving another red card and no abandonment.

They are eighth in the French second division on 11 points and will be without three players for their next batch of games, which includes Bastia, Pau and Bordeaux.
