Manchester United have reportedly drawn up a shortlist of SIX possible midfielders to approach at the end of the season.

The Red Devils, who've officially appointed Erik Ten Hag, have scouted several midfielders ahead of the summer transfer window.

Premier League stars Kalvin Phillips, Yves Bissouma, Ruben Neves and John McGinn are among the midfielders the club have scouted.

Not to mention AS Monaco starlet Aurelien Tchouameni and RB Leipzig talent Christopher Nkunku.

Bissouma and Neves have attracted interest following their displays for Brighton and Wolves respectively, with Liverpool and Arsenal thought to be keen too.

Phillips is a wanted man, with Aston Villa believed to be eyeing a summer move.

Villa's McGinn is also on Man United's radar and is a player who has drawn positive reviews from Sir Alex Ferguson.

Man United's current options in midfield include the likes of Fred and Scott McTominay, with Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba set to leave Old Trafford this summer.

New Man United boss Ten Hag will likely trim his squad before adding new talent to his team.

He's excited by the challenge ahead of replacing interim manager Ralf Rangnick at the end of the season.

"It is a great honour to be appointed manager of Manchester United and I am hugely excited by the challenge ahead," said the 52-year-old following the official unveiling on Thursday.

"I know the history of this great club and the passion of the fans, and I am absolutely determined to develop a team capable of delivering the success they deserve.

"It will be difficult to leave Ajax after these incredible years, and I can assure our fans of my complete commitment and focus on bringing this season to a successful conclusion before I move to Manchester United."
