Tottenham fan slammed as 'disgrace' after supporting Man City's win to spite Arsenal's Premier League title challenge

TalkSPORT co-hosts Jason Cundy and Darren Ambrose were startled by how the joyful Tottenham fan celebrated Manchester City’s win.

A Tottenham fan was branded a “disgrace to football” after admitting that he wanted Manchester City to beat his own team to spite north London rivals Arsenal.

Arsenal picked up a convincing 2-0 win over Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last week to strengthen their lead in the Premier League title race.

Defending Premier League champions City were left eight points behind league leaders Arsenal after Manchester United’s 2-1 comeback win at Old Trafford.

However, Pep Guardiola’s men reduced the margin to five points with their sensational comeback against Tottenham at the Etihad on Thursday.

Dejan Kulusevski fired Spurs into a shock first-half lead after Ederson put Rodri under pressure by playing out from the back.

Emerson Royal doubled Tottenham’s lead only minutes later to send Spurs into the break 2-0 up, with City coming out in the second half with serious momentum.

Goals from Julian Alvarez, Erling Haaland and a Riyad Mahrez brace ensured a sensational 4-2 win for City against Spurs on the night.

Spurs’ back-to-back Premier League defeats leave them outside of the top four, with Tottenham manager Antonio Conte facing mounting criticism over his side’s form.

One Tottenham fan called up talkSPORT and, astonishingly, insisted that he was “buzzing” with the City scoreline.

Caller: “Come on Citeh! I’m absolutely buzzing. #AFC wanted us to win!” 😭

Cundy: “You’re a disgrace to football!” 😡

“Come on City, come on City! I am absolutely buzzing lads. Brilliant, brilliant,” he said.

TalkSPORT host Darren Ambrose was stunned by the Spurs caller’s “buzzing” claim and asked why he felt that way after losing a match.

“Because I hate Arsenal, I can’t stand them. And they wanted us to win,” the fan responded.

He added: “Come on Spurs, do what you usually do right, do what you normally do and bottle it.”

TalkSPORT pundit Jason Cundy, who was alongside Ambrose in the studio, ruthlessly called out the Tottenham fan for supporting City in a bid to spite Arsenal.

“You’re a disgrace to football,” he said.

Responding to Cundy, the talkSPORT caller explained: “I’m a Spurs fan, we cannot have Arsenal winning that league.”
